I’ve always had a fondness for the Revolution Rumble.

I was there live for the first WildKat Sports Revolution Rumble in 2014 and was excited for a new concept. A format akin to my favorite WWE event, the Royal Rumble, but with the twist of coming down to the final two competitors instead of the last man standing was intriguing. Watching the final two in the Inaugural Revolution Rumble, Purple Haze and Bestia 666, have a full match after such a grueling battle was incredible. I was hooked, and have loved the annual match ever since.

The 2016 Rumble started with Danny Flamingo, who only moments before had lost to Luke Hawx in singles competition. I recall jesting to myself and others around me “yeah, then the final two will be Danny and Luke, but this time Danny wins!” Low and behold my Nosterdamous powers would prove correct, with Danny winning both the Rumble and the Revolution Championship in a moment I still have trouble believing.

The first match I ever called commentary for was the 2018 Revolution Rumble. Production had thrown me a bone for the call, and once I was done, everyone seemed pleasantly surprised at the quality of my performance. I knew I’d crush it if given the opportunity, and considering I’ve called every WildKat event since, I’d say I delivered, even if I cringe looking back on my performance.

In 2019, I got to call the event live from the Pontchartrain Center along with thousands for our biggest WildKat Sports event ever at that time. I’d lost some of my voice by the Revolution Rumble Match main event after getting worked up during the Stevie Richards versus PJ Hawx Hardcore match. To this day is still one of if not my favorite event to call, though that may change after this Saturday.

When the world went in hiatus due to Covid-19, so did the Revolution Rumble. Our return event in 2022 was copromoted with the NWA, and I has to honor of calling the Rumble along side the always excellent Joe Galli and the wonderful Velvet Sky. A true treat.

Then last year, the 2023 Revolution Rumble was the first I had a hand in behind the scenes, now as an owner, producer, and booker.

Every year, every Rumble has something to remember. something personal. Everything culminates, everything climaxes with the Rumble. Emotions are always high.

This year, the 2024 Rumble may be the most emotional yet. I’ll be sitting alongside David Powers and Chris Harper once again. it’ll be fun. it’ll be exciting. it’ll be emotional. especially for me. I am proud of the work I’ve done with this year’s Rumble and I’m excited to see how it comes out.

then in the Main event, inside a cage, two men I’ve become very close to will try to tear each other apart.

I don’t like how far things have gone between Luke and PJ. I very much wish things could have gone or have been handled differently.

Saturday I will do my best to do my job: to call this father versus son match and contribute what I can to enhance the match. Often times on commentary what that needs to be is to convey the emotion. On Saturday, I dont thing that will be an issue.
